WE MISSED YOU. YOU MISSED IT.

The opening last Saturday was great, even though a lot of folks who I invited never showed up. But the ones that did make it made it an event to remember. And, they bought some art. THANKS!

Now, lots of folks are asking me "when's the opening"?

Well there'll never be another opening reception. But I will be at the Uptown Arts Center gallery every Sunday in July, 1pm - 5pm.

DOWN IN UPTOWN. My 10 Years in Chicago's Most "Colorful" Community

OK, OK. I've finally decided on the opening reception date and time. It will be Saturday, July 11th from 2pm to 7pm. The location is 941 W. Lawrence at the Uptown Arts Center, which is on the 4th floor of the historically landmarked, Preston Bradley Center - in the guts of Uptown (there're also about a dozen other artists here, a dance studio...and a homeless shelter is in the basement).

Oh, and I almost forgot, the People's Church, founded by the amazing Preston Bradley, who was one of the first nationally famous broadcast ministers - when radio was the only broadcast medium. He was multicultural and ecumenical when multicultural and ecumenical wasn't cool. Everyone was invited. Even folks as colored as moi.

So bring an open mind and an open wallet. I promise to open your eyes to an artist-writer-recovering adman's vision of Chicago's most "colorful community.

Welcome to my World.

This is the bare bones of a blog I'm putting together to hype my upcoming show.
As usual, it's not much to look at. I'm an artist, writer and recovering adman, not a tekkie.
I have the ideas for the world's hippest website but not the coding skills or the patience.

But if you'll look at the images I'm posting, you'll get an idea of what I'm about. As we get closer to
DIU Day, there'll be more.

Btw: If you're a tekkie who appreciates art, we may be able to work out something that can be er..uh..mutually beneficial. Email me at lowellt@hotmail.com, OK?
